Anchored-in: Resiliency Group
Weekly interactive group every Monday from 4:15 to 6:00, starting on October 21st in conjunction with the LUSD school calendar for teens who have a hurt, habit or hang-up that hinders them from achieving their goals. (Curriculum will be similar to an AA group or a Celebrate Recovery group for teens)
Facilitated by a certified Substance Abuse Counselor and a Marriage and Family Counselor.
Trade Shop Group
Weekly skill-based activity group provided every Tuesday from 3:30 to 5:30 at the One-Eighty Teen Center, led by various experts in their field. Participation in the Trade Shop Group can earn students a Certificate of Completion to be presented to potential employers. Certificate is earned after attending the following 10 experiential lessons: welding, carpentry, automotive care, basic residential plumbing and maintenance, yard maintenance, painting, personal budgeting, volunteerism and crisis response, and the Job Readiness Program.
Facilitated by Mr. Steve Skelton, retired Master Mechanic of Constellation Wines.
Job Readiness Program
Quarterly training every Tuesday, starting October 17, from 3:00-5:00 which include: assistance with school career resources (career and personality assessments), resumé writing, goal setting, dressing for success with the purchase of 1 interview outfit, mock interviews, employee ethics (how to keep a job), volunteer experience, and a two week job shadow in conjunction with partnering local businesses. Facilitated by the co-owner of Smack Pie and The Mud Mill (local downtown businesses) and LMFT.
Daily Mentor Group
We offer various activities and groups every day. Currently, we offer a weekly baking, rock climbing, stamp, garden, art, and trade shop groups. We also welcome talented individuals to come and lead additional groups. For example; local teacher at B Sharp School of Music has offered to teach students how to make their own Digital Dance Music and introductory lessons on audio engineering.
